2007 ZERO – THE SMASHING PUMPKINS

Fans first spotted it during The Infinite Sadness Tour (1995–1997), supporting Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. It wasn’t flashy. It didn’t scream. It declared. The black canvas, the white font — unbranded yet unforgettable.

Backstage, teens lined up to grab one, sometimes sizing up or down just to make sure they had it. On city streets, it became shorthand for heartbreak, defiance, and poetic doom — a Gen X soul in cotton form.

Years later, vintage shops would frame it like an artifact. A relic of the era when sadness was celestial, and ZERO didn’t mean nothing — it meant everything.
